  • Leweb Here We Come!

Hopefully, all going well we'll be attending Leweb next week in Paris. I say hopefully because the weather here in Ireland has been fairly bad - very cold, snow and ice. Ireland doesn't handle snow and ice very well with flight cancellations, treacherous roads and public transport grinding to a halt! Our journey to Paris begins Tuesday. You can follow our updates @pinpoints on twitter.

We are looking forward to Leweb and we'll be releasing something new too! Quite a bit of Irish activity this year:

  • PinPoints to be showcased at LeWeb 2010

    Delighted to announce the following.

Announced on Techcrunch.com last night, Cauwill Technologies and 15 other companies will have the chance to showcase their products on LeWeb 2010 stages.

  • PinPoints and StreetView

It's been a while coming but Ireland finally got street view and boy oh boy is it awesome!

PinPoints of course works with Google streetview - http://directions.to/cauwill to get a glimpse of Cauwill HQ

Here's one of the 'Lookout Near Portroe (Co. Tipperary)

    Happy Streetviewing!!

We'll then only need you to name the PinPoint so you can tell it apart from other PinPoints and once that's done we'll give you a PinPoint that you can view or share without leaving your e-mail or current web page.

  • Nokia n900

So we got to play with a Nokia n900 phone for the past week. We are testing some new features on the PinPoints site and Nokia phone was needed. Well, it’s not really a phone – It’s more like a small tablet PC!

Yes it makes phone calls, yes it sends and receives SMS’s and PinPoints, but let me explain why it’s a Tablet PC and not a phone.

  • It's all new and even better than before

I'm sure you've noticed by now, it's a whole new site. The principle service remains the same - send a location to your phone but we've been listening to our customers and what we have learned is that the additional features we built into the phone client are more than most people want. So we worked hard and we figured out a way to deliver the location on a URL without the need for a client. This is now the default behavior but if you've like to still use the client then you are welcome to - just edit your profile & tell us you want to use the client under "Phone Information".

This new smart URL PinPoint is also a lot easier to share with your friends or use on social networking sites.
Please let us know what you think by using the "Feedback" button at the side.
